How to cook French Onion Soup - French Onion Soup Recipe
Ingredients;
4 cups Yellow Onions
3 tablespoons Butter
4 tablespoons Olive Oil
1/4 cup dry Sherry
4 cups of Chicken Stock
Gruyere cheese
Bay Leaf
Thyme
Salt and Pepper
French Baguette
Cut Onions lengthwise.
Saute Onions in Butter and Olive Oil until very soft.
Deglaze the pot with Sherry.
Add Thyme, Chicken Stock, and a Bay leaf and let simmer for about an hour.
Slice a French Baguette into pieces, Butter them and broil until toasty.
Ladel the Soup into an oven-safe bowl, put French Baguette slices on soup, and cover with Gruyere Cheese.
Place in oven under the broiler until the Gruyere Cheese is melted.
Serve and enjoy!
